Today I worked on a few things:
I know that in my last log I said I wasn’t going to make the website responsive. However, I realized two things. One, Chakra’s grid layout makes it really easy to create a responsive website and two: this was a task chatGPT was pretty good at, which was a pleasant suprise.
I also added an inset box shadow on grid items on the home page to give each item a sunken look. The effect is subtle, but just noticeable enough that it should guide the user’s eyes as they move from box to box.
Finally, I started laying out my work subpage. I started creating the project cards and set up the grid for them. I am debating whether even to use a grid though and simply have singular cards stacked on top of one another.
My brother thinks that having the stacked approach allows for users to focus on one project at a time. On the other hand, as my project list grows I want to avoid long scrolls. I will experiment with both.
